Russ Howden (Howdy Flash) is a tattoo artist with a background in painting and a deep appreciation for bold, high-impact art. After earning a painting degree in 2016 from AUA, they spent years developing a personal body of work while building a portfolio of traditional flash designs. Inspired by the crossover between tattooing, skate culture, and comics, their style reflects a love for clean lines, solid shading, and timeless imagery.

In May 2024, Russ officially began tattooing, bringing their passion for traditional work into the craft. Whether working on classic motifs or custom pieces, they aim to create tattoos that are built to last and easy to wear.

When not tattooing, they can usually be found sketching, painting, or digging through old comics for inspiration.
